Damascus – A number of Syrian rebel groups on Monday announced suspension of talks regarding peace negotiations planned this month in the Kazakh capital Astana.
About ten rebel factions issued a joint statement in the evening on Monday to announce freeze of peace talks.
The groups said that they were suspending their participation in the planned negotiations due to violations by the Syrian regime of the ceasefire–that was brokered by Russia and Turkey four days ago.
